Intel who usually keeps release dates secret has said that its new penryn family of processors will be released November 12, today! This new family hold 12 new quad core versions of its xeon server processor and a core2 extreme desktop chip. These chips not only are on a 45nm platform but revolutionize the materials used to make transistors. For the first time in 40 years the materials used in making transistors is changed to Hafnium with a combiniation of 2 secret metal oxided instead of silicon dioxide. With the smaller size and new materials these chips not only perform better but also use less energy. The new chips range in price from $177 to $1,279 and the Core 2 Extreme QX9650 will be $999.
The speeds of the chips are also very impressive. The 12 new quad-core chips boast clock speeds ranging from 2GHz up to 3.20GHz, with front side bus speeds (FSB) up to 1600MHz, and cache sizes of 12MB. The three new dual-core chips feature clock speeds of up to 3.40GHz, an FSB of up to 1600MHz, and cache sizes of 6MB. |

I saw a few articles around the net commenting on cellphones from the top companies. Some handy tools if your shopping for one this xmas seaons.
Check out the pic below for the top phones from the top companies. Iphone 3gs from AT&T VS Motorola Droid from Verizon VS Palm Pre from spring VS My Touch from Tmoblie Click the here to read the full article. Click to enlarge the pic below
I've also included a link the latest consumer report article regarding cell phone providers. Verizon is first, AT&T is dead last. This is not really surprising. "The annual survey of wireless customer satisfaction from Consumer Reports
hits the streets this week and it doesn’t have much good to say about
AT&T. In a canvass of more than 50,000 readers spanning 26 U.S.
cities, the organization found the carrier had the lowest
customer-satisfaction rating in 19 cities surveyed; Verizon ranked
highest." Consumer reports AT&T is dead last

I've been a happy verizon customer for years and have had only 1 complaint up until now, an Iphone competitor. I'm going to get the Driod in a few weeks when i become elligible. With my new phone every 2 years. I can get the driod for $99 and since i don't need it for business i only have to pay $89 per month.

A Nokia application to the US Patent and Trademark Office has revealed its work on a handset that’s operated by cranks - no, not grumpy office-worker types - and which looks suspiciously like the troubled Sidekick Slide.

The virtual qwerty keyboard on apple's iphone allows user to enter the as quickly as they would on another handset's physical keyboard, but they'll make more mistakes in the process The Chicago company User Centric's has conducted a usability study comparing the iphone qwerty keyboard to other full keyboards currently out on the market. The test included typing text messages with plain text not using any auto text features. You can read User Centrics write up on its website |

The new rage has been the bluetooth option for new cars. Most states are implementing a ban on cell use inside cars and this solves that problem. Bluetooth headsets are nice but i'm always loosing mine that why i got a bluetooth car kit. I bought one and installed in myself but nowadays it comes as a factory option. I'd imagine that almost every car in the near future will have this handy option. Most people are savvy enough to understand how link there phone with the car bluetooth so its just a great idea.
